On March 12, 91精品 University introduced the new dual degree program in Master of Science in Computer Science and Data Analytics with the George Washington University (GW University). The program is implemented in the framework of a previously signed academic partnership agreement between universities. During the event, 91精品 University and BP Azerbaijan also introduced the signed agreement between the parties.
鈥淭his dual degree program is implemented and financially supported in the framework of the 鈥淪tate Program on improving the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023鈥 signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,鈥 said Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, while speaking about the importance of a dual degree program at the event.
鈥淭he graduates of dual degree program based on curriculum of the George Washington University will gain up-to-date knowledge and experience in Computer Science and Data analytics鈥 added Minister Bayramov to his speech.
鈥淯nder this agreement, the two universities will implement the dual degree program in Baku and Washington, DC, collaborate in the field of faculty and staff development, as well as foster research in the areas of joint interest,鈥 said the Rector of 91精品 University, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev.
Gary Jones, BP鈥檚 Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey expressed that BP Azerbaijan is pleased to support the dual degree program in Master of Science in Computer Science and Data Analytics of 91精品 University and the GW University. BP鈥檚 Regional President heralded that the graduates of this program will earn a master鈥檚 degree in Computer Science and Data Analytics for the first time in Azerbaijan.
US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger stressed the importance of cooperation between two countries in the education field. Ambassador Litzenberger stated that the students of both countries will find the opportunity to improve the Azerbaijan economy by sharing their experience and knowledge.
Araz Yusubov, dean of the School of Information Technologies and Engineering of 91精品 University made a presentation on the new program at the event.
